It will feature key storylines including John Paul and Craig’s kiss, Kim and Esther’s wedding, Ste’s HIV storyline and Sally St.Clare’s moving story of transition.

And in news that will no doubt delight staunch Stendan fans, Brendan Brady actor Emmett J.Scanlan will be reunited with former on-screen partner Kieron Richardson who plays Ste Hay. Joining them will be other contributors including Annie Wallace, Jazmine Franks, Tamara Wall, Ross Adams, James Sutton, James Ingham, Darren Scott and executive producer Bryan Kirkwood.

Bryan said of the commission, ‘Channel 4 was created to give a voice to a minority audience so I think it’s incredibly important that Hollyoaks, as C4’s flagship drama, gives that voice to LGBT+ viewers.’ Teasing Hollyoaks fans about the new documentary, show star Kieron Richardson appeared in a short video posted on Hollyoaks’ official Twitter page. The actor said: “I’m massively pleased to announce that coming soon to All4 is our brand new documentary celebrating all our LGBT+ storylines with some very familiar faces….”. At that moment, his former co-star Emmett walked in and joined him on the sofa. Keeping in character, Emmett remained stony-faced as he simply mumbled “Hi Steven.” While a thrilled Kieron squealed: “Hiya Brendan!”

Upon hearing the news that the duo will be working together again, ecstatic Hollyoaks fans took to twitter to share their joy.

“OMG THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY WHOLE LIFE (except in Hollyoaks not a documentary but I’ll take what I can get),” said one person. While another tweeted: “This has MADE MY DAY!!!! Will be so good to see them reunited.” An excited fourth person wrote: “I just screamed so loud my mum jumped love Brendon.” “OH MY GOD!!!! So excited!!!” screamed a fifth. With another fan adding: “I would like to say I internally screamed then but there is nothing internal about what I’ve just done.”
